It is great to see one of the best Flex applications, Picnik.com, reviewed by Walt Mossberg. It is even better that his focus is on the user experience and the application value, not the technology used. It is a great read and a sure sign of things to come for Flex technologies.Now, It's a Picnik To Edit Your Phots Using a Web Program by Walt Mossberg
I blogged Picnik.com when it launched back in Feb. and since the team has come a very long way with the application. It is still dead simple to edit an image.
Congrats to the Picnik.com team. You all rock!

For sure that's cool. Isn't Mossberg the dude who says he has info that the iPhone will support Flash in soon-to-be released patch? Sort of lost respect for him after that--unless of course he's right but I dunno.
I thought it was a pretty lame article. It didn't do a good job explaining the difference between web apps. and desktop apps. And it didn't even mention that Flex was a cornerstone of Picnik!
Walt has a very good perspective on technology, one we as technologists often loose sight of. I read his column because he captures the view of the end user. At the end of the day we should be judged by this perspective, not from a technical geeky code oriented perspective.
Adampasz, at the end of the day, end users will not see the difference. Who cares is something runs on the desktop or web or on your phone, the experience should be the same at all touch points. Walt showcased the experience of rich application and that is validation of much of the RIA movement.
I think it is important because of who Walt represents. It is a clear sign that RIA, Rich Internet Application are going mainstream and this market is really early and has serious growth ahead of it.
That is good for Flex, Flash, AIR, AJAX, and all the developers focused on making sure experience comes first.
I thought it was a breakout article for RIA and I think it is a clear sign of the direction the market is heading.
If you want details on the iPhone and Flash Player, you need to talk to Apple.
