Tonight Adobe announced AIR for Android at Mobile World Congress. The new AIR runtime allows any Flash/Flex developer to create standalone applications on Android. The runtime is very fast and is highly optimized for low cpu and low memory conditions on mobile devices. Given the explosion of Android devices, developers will be able to widely deploy AIR apps in late 2010.

So will this be a feature in CS5 ??
Come on Apple step up to the plate
And when will this be available? =D
Amazing Apps Ted, Android + AIR + Flash player 10.1 in Nexus will be the best combination
That's awesome!
Great job, when can we find a download on labs ;-)
Acrobat native app for the Droid that shares info with the native website? wow! NICE!
This is incredibly exciting.
Will there be a few notes somewhere about when we developers will get a hold of it?
Thank you.
Glad to see this news. I love the Adobe Air platform. I've found a number of indispensable apps on it.
Frak'n awesome, can't wait to get this on my Nexus One! Suck-it Apple!
Hope this is the runtime that knocks the ball out of the park this time round for standalone mobile apps and Flash content (along with inbrowser Flash).
Many of us in the Flash community have seen many attempts at mobilizing Flash across devices for many years. For one reason, or another, it's never exactly panned out for Flash.
Here's to hoping that Adobe puts as much effort into the runtime as they should into ecosystems with the OSP partners.
This is incredibly exciting.
Great job, when can we find a download on labs :)
